Diesel engines are still good for surprises. The BMW TwinPower Turbo drive trains in the BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition and xDrive23d combine high dynamics with low consumption. The basis for this is an innovative technology package made up of common rail direct injection and Twin with variable nozzle turbocharger. Alongside the ultra-lightweight aluminium engine block, two different-sized turbochargers are deployed sequentially to deliver blistering power of up to 150 kW (204 hp) at any speed range. At the same time, fuel consumption is a surprisingly frugal 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres. The diesel engines in the BMW X1 sDrive18d, xDrive18d, sDrive20d and xDrive20d guarantee a swift response and massive torque: the engines use a third generation common rail fuel injection system and boast an impressive ratio of performance (up to 130 kW/177 hp) to consumption (from 5.2 l/100 km).
Combined fuel consumption: 4.5 to 6.3 l/100 km
Combined CO2 emissions: 119 to 167 g/km
All engines meet the EU5 emissions standard.
Further information about the official fuel consumption and the official specific CO2 emissions for new passenger automobiles can be obtained from "The Passenger Car (Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations", which are available free of charge at all sales outlets and at DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany.
